The Healthy Land and Water catchment report for the Lower Brisbane waterways highlights the importance of protecting existing critical streambank vegetation and wetlands from clearing and weed infestation.

Currently 83% of streambanks in the Lower Brisbane catchment are vegetated. Over the next 25 years, the population in the Brisbane City Council area is projected to increase to approx. 1.5 million people so protecting and enhancing the condition and access for residents to enjoy their local waterways will be critical.

Hands on conservation

Work to restore the natural vegetation along the banks of Enoggera Creek and its surrounds has a long and proud community tradition dating back to the 1980s.
